Thank you for a very special day – I thoroughly enjoyed the one day silent meditation retreat – I responded well to all the meditation exercises especially the one with the Mala beads – going to buy some – and I found the Qigong session very energising – quite surprisingly so – and I loved, loved the colouring exercise – took me back to my favourite childhood pastime and I was in the zone!! The silence was quite empowering. I will definitely try another session next year.

I have just returned from Laura and Janine’s Autumn Day Retreat at Crowhurst and there is a feeling of having been nourished in every sense. My state of being at the start of the day had altered completely by the end , but not only that – Laura and Janine provide hot and cold drinks and snacks and everyone brought a vegetarian plate to share and I can honestly say that lunch was delicious.
We were introduced to a number of Mindfulness practices that I will most certainly be taking in to my own meditation practice. Both Laura and Janine facilitated the day sensitively and expertly and their teaching style complemented each other perfectly.
Norman’s Wood is in a lovely rural location and the house and garden provide a wonderful space for the cultivation of inner peace and gratitude.
I was surprised (and a little disappointed) at how quickly the time passed – I left feeling that I wanted more. I will certainly be returning. Sharing silence with a group is a very special practice and I felt completely comfortable not ‘doing’ anything for the best part of a day.

I have been attending a Mindfulness course every week for about 3 months now with the lovely Janine in the South Street Cafe in Isleworth, Middlesex. When I started the course I couldn’t imagine what an impact it would have on my life and what wonderful people I would meet. I didn’t think I could take to meditation but it has totally changed my chaotic and busy mind and it feels so noticibly calmer. There is homework to do yourself eg meditating, but I also started reading things I didn’t think I would, going places and doing things that never occured to me.
I can’t stress enough how wonderful mindfulness is and what a difference to your life it can make. It’s not mumbo jumbo, nor a religion or a cult following but just an individual way to help you see clearly through your stress filled fog of a brain.

It has been very good for me, as someone who worries about time and what to do with it.
I have been known to get agitated over simple things, but am learning to use
Mindfulness as a remedy. If things are pressing down on me and I feel my self being
agitated I go into the mode. I stand “in the moment”, by breathing regularly for a
short moment. I am soon in control again and move happily on.
Janine has a very friendly way of delivering the material and the instructions. She makes
it very understandable.
I have just two more sessions left and really do not want it to end.
Just on a practical note, I can tell you from experience that Janine’s prices are very reasonable.
